Dear Bahá’í Friend,
Your email of 16 May 2025 addressed to the Research Department, in which you enquire about the concept of the Day of Judgement in the Bahá’í writings, has been received at the Bahá’í World Centre.
The Research Department has reported that ‘Abdu’l-Bahá refers to the Day of Judgement in chapter 26 of Some Answered Questions — which can be found on the Bahá’í Reference Library at the address set out below — where He directs the reader to the Kitáb-i-Íqán in two instances. That Department of has also noted that in a letter dated 2 July 1939, written on his behalf to a National Spiritual Assembly, the Guardian explains that “the Judgement Day” is “the Day when unbelievers will be called upon to give account of their actions, and whether the world has prevented them from acknowledging the new Revelation”. This letter has been published in full in Messages of Shoghi Effendi to the Indian Subcontinent 1923–1957 (New Delhi: Bahá’í Publishing Trust, 1995), pages 181–183.
With loving Bahá’í greetings,
Department of the Secretariat
